The Gullah diaspora embodies many traditions and lineages including indigenous, locals, post African slaves, Carribeans, caucasions, and into every genetic line imaginable. It is a very inclusive culture with a living universal language that is truth telling in etymology. Both the culture and the language are meant to be experienced and to illuminate your life and understanding through those experiences. It is incredibly authentic to each moment, adapting through ages of time and persons, and unique to whom is sharing the experience together.
This legacy will be honored and guided with inclusive experiences at our Community Center. It is envisioned to connect from John’s Island to Folly as a leading example of “DASO” (Decentralized Autonomous Sovereign Organization) which will apply economic opportunities for Gullah representation on this historic Sea Island.
